Re: Valentines day is right around the corner!
Ordering something takeout-esque
We bought a laptop yesterday, so that was our gift. We will probably do something small for each other too...
Ditto!
We'll have a 2 week old so likely just dinner and an evening on the couch.
Wait...that sounds pretty damn nice to me
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
E and I are making V-day cards this weekend for immediate family members. It's something fun for her to do and our immediate family loves getting hand made ones. We do store bought for school/daycare.
Dh usually gets "man flowers" (beer).
We don't do dinner out on Valentines, usually it's dinner as normal with maybe a treat for E. Our newest dessert is a banana cut up with a little bit of chocolate sauce, whip cream (the can kind) and a cherry on top. Mmmmm! E loves this and it's some what healthy.
Our anniversary is on the 19th, so we don't do V-Day, plus DH works Tuesday nights. I have some really fun gift ideas for the kid's daycare/school friends and the kids and I will prob get a heart shaped pizza.
I have a slight aversion to Valentine's Day due to something that happened in my past, so I kind of dread the day. And red roses. My exH always sent me red roses anyway. What a peach.
Anyway, BF and I kind of agree that it is just another day. There are 364 other days in a year where we can show each other love, too!
So, we set a $50 limit on gifts. I asked for a heart rate monitor. So romantic. I'm probably getting him a grill pan he wants.
We are not really Valentine's people...will probably make a nice meal at home and maybe go out to dinner somewhere nice the weekend after...and don't usually do gifts, just cards.
I did find some really cute Valentine ideas for the kids to take to preschool and daycare so that is fun! And I usually make heart-shaped panckaes that morning and get the kiddos a Valentine-related book (which i do for every holiday).
We are Vday people. No gifts though. We started dating (twice) on Vday and got engaged then. We would have gotten married then if it wasn't so freaking expensive that day in Vegas. We don't celebrate anything else, really. Anyway.
We're going to dinner at Kobe that eve with a group of friends.
thanks to jennied
how is Kobe? i've always wanted to eat there but wasn't sure if it would be for me.
If you like Chinese, you should like it. It's more of an event place - they cook at your table, flip shrimp at you, among other entertaining things. I've always had a good time there. It's usually pretty loud and obnoxious so if that's not your thing, I'd say go elsewhere. I like loud and obnoxious and sake bombs
thanks to jennied
Holy cow, we're going to have a little sister!!
TTC #1 since 08/11 IUI#2 = BFP!
This. Actually this year he's working 7a-7p & I'm working 7p-7a, so we won't even see each other on Valentine's Day.
Same here (minus the 2 week old, mine will be 12 weeks that day ) We've never really done stuff for Valentine's Day and all that.
