for our potential new house. Any advice?

Walk around with the home inspector and ask questions aout EVERYTHING and have him/her tell you how things work, anything that may be questionable, etc. we learned a lot about our ome by doing so (furnace, water softeners, stuff w the roof and base,ent, etc.). S/he should be more than happy to do so. Good luck!
