How does Early Intervention work?

Can you shed some light on how early intervention works? Any info about costs would be great, too? Not sure if my little one needs it yet or not, but we're gathering info just in case.

Thank you!

Re: How does Early Intervention work?

  • it's free to have the eval done.  If your child qualifies- they will look at your income and the charge/hour is based on a sliding scale by income.... or, like we did, you can choose to go private (we did that b/c our insurance coveres speech therapy).

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • we used it for trevor for PT.  called and set up a consult to see if he qualified (consult is free) then went from there.  they came to the house for everything. cost was on a sliding scale based on income.  it can be a slow process especially in the beginning to get everything going but it was so worth it for us.  cost us very little and we had a great therapist that came right to the house.  good luck to you!
