Remember that time change back in November?

Somehow, my body never adjusted to it!  Before the time change, I was going to sleep at 10:30 and waking up around 6.  I'm now falling asleep at 9 and waking up at 5 and just can't seem to adjust. I've tried to stay up and manage to do it for a day or two but then I'm back to falling asleep at 9. I try to read in bed like always, and can't get past a page or two before my eyes are closed. Some days I can't even make it to 9pm. I also tend to wake up a lot during the night, and have absolutely no sense of what time it is. I'll think it's probably about time to get up, and it's only 11pm.

At this point I may as well just keep going to sleep at 9 and then I'll be back on a 10 to 6 schedule when the time changes again, but WTF?!  I've never had this problem before. I've always adjusted like a normal person.  It's 7:35 and I'm totally ready for bed.

Anyway, I think I'm just tired and a little stressed. My class this year is great but they have soooo much energy and it's exhausting. Any advice?

  • Interestingly, I'm having the same problem.  I'm attributing mine to age :)

  • Ha, it definitely could be age. I'm pretty dang old.

  • It's only 6 more weeks until we change again.  Can you make it that long?  I'd be worried about getting yourself finally acclimated only to have to re-acclimate again a few weeks later.
  • Time changes are the worst thing ever invented. I'm still working on trying to get DS adjusted - the only reason is because DH gets home at 7pm from work and often doesn't get to see him before the little one is asleep :( We use to have him up until 8pm, so DH got to spend an hour with him.
