Right now I have a regular blister and a blood blister on my nipple. Holyshit does it hurt to pump! The regular blister is attempting to nurse little miss tongue tie and the blood blister is from pumping.
Whats nuts is that I am still doing it. If you would have told me a year ago I would be going through all of this to feed breast milk I would have called you crazy. Babies really do change you (:
Re: My poor nips
Ouch!
A friend had her DDs tongue clipped and said it was quick and easy and helped a TON!
I hear you on the nip pain. I had an infected duct for MONTHS thinking there was nothing to be done. It caused vasospasms. It SUCKS! (Finally ended up on antibiotics for a sinus infection and it cleared up in 2 days. Ahhh!)

Ive done that a few times. I'm also still not convinced my flanges are the right size
She already had it clipped but it's still very short so she has a really shallow latch. She isn't efficient either so even if I do nurse her a little I still have to pump and bottle feed. I just need to accept that we are exclusively pumping and stop putting myself through the pain of trying to get her to latch.
Call medela! They'll sometimes overnight new sizes for free

Oh, that sucks! I've heard there are some tongue exercises you can do to get them to stretch it out more. I can e-mail my friend and see if she has any ideas, if you want. I know she ended up having her tongue clipped twice. I'm not sure why the second time.
Still nursing here... it gets easier! I promise!
Then, it gets harder again (growth spurts, distractibility and increased awareness, teething, second pregnancy...) but then it gets easier again : ) Like everything else in parenting, right? ; )
