In wedding 2 months after having baby?

Best bet for ordering a dress?  Not so much worried about my weight as I am about having out of control boobs.  Have to order soon for a November wedding.  Bride said we pretty much get to pick out own dresses thank God so I'll be looking for something w/ a lot of support.  What do you think?  One size up?

Re: In wedding 2 months after having baby?

  • I had my brothers wedding a month after having my 2nd.  I ordered the size that fit me when I was like 25 weeks pg, thats when we went to get sized.  it fit almost perfectly, which was a little sad. lol

  • I would make sure you get a dress that they can make easy alterations to- so one that has a good amount of fabric- what my sister did was she ordered a dress for the size she was when we ordered and she was 5 months pg- and it fit great when it came in and needed a little taking in- but I would talk to the dress shop to ask them- better to get bigger and take it in-

  • I'm 2 months post-partum and I'm still...larger lol. I'm probably 2 sizes bigger ans HUGE boobs.

..and going back to WW soon to try to get this under control lol.

  • I think I ordered 2 sizes up just in case. You can always take more in. I was 7 weeks PP.

  • Get advice from the women at the dress shop - they've done this a million times before. My sister was still really small when we picked dresses for my wedding and just about 9 months on my wedding day, and the dress shop barely batted an eye.

  • I was in my sister's wedding 3 months pp to the day.  Tried on dresses when I was huge...we guessed based off of some measurements I had for a wedding the previous year and went up a size.  It fit almost perfectly.  It was empire waist--made out of chiffon so it flowed.  I stood next to an 8 month pregnant bm during the wedding and my biggest fear is that people would think we were both pregnant!!  Nobody said anything if they thought it luckily.

  • Those dresses usually run small id go 2 sizes up to be safe. I know what size I was after both my girls....
  • Definitely go for the empire waist and a flowy fabric - think Grecian goddess :)  Always order bigger, don't go "the extra fabric" route, it is cheaper and easier for them to take a dress in than add extra material.  You can also have them add straps if the dress doesn't have them for added support.

Pregnant bridesmaids and new mom bridesmaids are very common :)  Congratulations!!!

  • My weight/size 2 months pp was very different this time so I would pick a style that will be very forgiving since you just never know.

  • I'll be in a wedding a couple months after having a baby, and the advice I heard from someone else who was in a wedding 6 weeks after having a baby was to order two sizes up.

  • I was in my brothers wedding 2 weeks after having Gia. I was planning on getting 2 sizes bigger than my normal size.  So glad I listened to the women and only did 1 size bigger. It depends on the dress and the cut. I would talk to the women and specifically a seamstress at the dress shop and see which ones they recommend. E to,d me they deal with pg bridesmaids so much they have some that they know work.

ditto, i was in my sisters wedding 12 days postpartum.  i tried on dresses when i was 6mths pg and then ordered a sz up from what fit me at davids bridal.  it was better not to have to stress over if it would fit or not.
