Has anyone ever done Boot Camp?

I am a fatty, I carry it well, but I can totally stand to lose a good 75 lbs to be healthy.  I am so fed up with myself that I need someone to kick my as$.  There is a place near me in Sparta that does Boot camps during the day that I can actually get to. I am sick of hearing my own excuses all the time.  I am doing ww, like I have for the last 10 years on and off, but I always end up f-ing up and throwing in the towel.

I joined a gym over the summer and did pretty good with going but then I got hurt, quit, and am back where I started.  I got hurt bc I am too cheap to hired a personal trainer.

sooo anyway, anyone ever do it?  Did you like it?  Looking for all the inspiration in the world right now. I emailed the place and I am waiting for a call back.

Thanks

Re: Has anyone ever done Boot Camp?

  • Yes, I have. There are a few of us on here who have.

It was just the right kick in the pants I needed to get me motivated to continue working out last year. I started with exercise TV at home, and the gazelle (elliptical) and then got bored and wanted something more.

I liked that it was always different, so I didn't get in a work-out rut, it was fun, and it gave me results. I met some great people, one of which I still work out with a year later! It also got me to love exercising.. do it! You'll thank yourself!

  • I want to do it with GilliMax the next time she does it. She raved about it (as she did in the pp) so I say go for it!
  • yep, loved it. it gave me the confidance I needed to join a gym and take a variety of classes there. mine was 2 hours on sunday mornings. It kicked my a$$ but I loved every minute of it.

  • I did a six week course last summer. I run, I'm in reasonably good shape, and it kicked my ass. In a good way - but it kicked my ass, lol. I'd do it again, though

  • I've been going twice a week to the class at my gym...it's awesome! Been doing it for a few months now. I have missed a couple weeks but am getting back into it.

Pits a hard workout, but I always feel good after!

    Good luck

  • I am doing one now- it is 2-3 times a week an hour each time, it is not a biggest loser bootcamp, but it is great, totally different each time I go, and I feel great- I need variety and this is perfect!

  • i have done a couple of cycles of a 3 week...every day one. It's hard core, rain or shine, outside....it completely kicks my ass and I my fitness level is fairly high.  that being said, the instructors do a good job of making everyone feel challenged but not overwhelmed.  I do it when I need a kick in the pants.

  • I have and I agree with another poster who said it got them to love exercising ... I lost alot of weight and had never been so in shape in my life .. its tough in the beginning but I loved every minute of it ...... She still managed to somehow make it the hardest workout and i had been going on and off for over a year ......

I used to hate hate hate running and started doing it at bootcamp bc I had to and now I have done alot of 5ks a 10k and a marathon relay .... I could not believe how great it was to challenge myself and do races it really kept me motivated ...

its a great challenge you will love it best of luck !
