DH and I just made plans to spend Superbowl Sunday taking the kids on a long promised museum trip. We've never been invited to a Superbowl party and have never watched the game, so we'll take advantage of everyone else doing that to avoid crowds. I'm so glad my husband is as not into sports as I am lol!
Re: Friday Confessions
I just invited my parents to dinner and then realized that I don't have enough starch or veg to feed us all! I sense a trip to the grocery store later. To top it off, my dad is here playing with J and I haven't asked him if he wants to spend all day here I just called my mother and asked her if she wanted to come for dinner bc I know if I ask my dad he'll just say "I don't know I need to ask your Mother". I took the short cut! LOL Now when he comes back from his walk w J I'll say "So you want to stay for dinner? Mom says yes and she'll be here at 6."
LOL ( if he says no though I'm off the hook food wise so it doesn't matter to me much at all!)
My husband is from Chile so he never watched football growing up. When we were dating we went to the movies during the Superbowl. He was the only guy in the entire theatre. lol We do watch the game now though. That was 15 years ago. lol
My confession is that I love when my husband has to leave early or is traveling. My mornings are so much less hectic even though I have to get 2 boys ready and out the door by myself. And I will enjoy having the TV and couch to myself tonight after the boys go to bed!
Travis had chocolate covered raisans. With milk.
We are thinking about moving Corey and his BFF to another team for next season. I am really upset about it and don't want to do it, but there is so much stuff that we aren't happy with it kind of seems like a no brainer. He doesn't know yet.
I hid my credit cards and only have had $50 this week. I was able to just use that but boy did I realize how much I go to spend. I went to the grocery store just for Julia's milk and wanted to pick up so much more random stuff, but didn't want to dip into my $50. If we are on the way home from Little Gym and I am hungry, I will go to Starbucks or something and then get her a snack, too. I got a haircut today and almost went to the Rite Aid next door just to get her a coloring book and a bag of Goldfish to occupy her. Instead I went to my house and put the Goldfish we already had in a bag.
I would get pissy with my husband when he would harp on the CC bill but I checkedthink I really do spend way more than I should. Sadly I think that Shop Rite is our biggest money sucker.
Oh and my real confession is that I probably would have just given into temptation to buy stuff but I can't remember where I put the credit or debit card.
Tonight is spaghetti supper/family dinner at Reilly's school/our church. $20 for all you can eat pasta, garlic bread and salad and desserts. Game on no cooking on clean up. The flier said BYOB Glenn says it means bring your own juices/water etc but I am betting its wine and I am prepared. Hundreds of kids running around the church basement requires reinforcements.
I agree with you - if it was juice, it would be BYOJ!! Wine, it is!
That's awesome! Definitely need wine to get through it! Although maybe bring it in a sippy cup just in case (not speaking from experience or anything....).
RIIIIIGHHHHTTT!!!
When I read all your impressive dinner/menu planning posts, I feel like the worst wife/mother! I was never a great cook, but with the girls, they stand under my feet for the 5 minutes I spend in the kitchen. Most of our meals are made on the foreman grill or microwave. I'd love to learn to make real food someday.
Our meals or all courtesy of applebees, fridays, and local family restaurants don't feel bad!
The guy that lives behind us put his house up for sale and I am really nervous about who is going to buy it. The house's backyard faces our bedroom window and we have been lucky for the past 5 yrs that it was 2 quiet elderly people who lived there. They went into assisted living and now the son is selling the house.
I guess I never thought I'd become one of "those people" who worries about noise and other people partying. Maybe Im getting old. But thank god we are also looking to move in the next year or so, so even if very loud people moved in, it wouldnt be forever (and at least our kids rooms arent on that side of the house)
B feels the same way about our one neighbor who's driveway is next to our backyard. He's already nervous for if she leaves and she's not leaving that we know of anytime soon.

I'm square in the crosshairs of a giant layoff that's set to occur in the next few weeks. I'm scared sh!tless. I've been looking for a new job for over a year now. For the literally hundreds of job applications I've submitted, I've had precisely one interview. ONE! And my friend was the hiring manager. I didn't even get that job, that's how bad I suck.
I guess my confession is that I wish prostitution was safe and legal.
urgh, good luck.
i've been looking for 2 years and only have this job because of a friend. it SUCKS
I've got 2 "older" brothers on one side who I never hear a THING out of...and they snow blow our front walk when it's bad, lol and they are so sweet.....and I've got a family on the other side with 2 kids in college and I think the mom is kinda sick. I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. They've both lived there since J's mom bought the house like 20 years ago.
But on the flip side it would be awesome if someone with a kid W's age moved in!
dont feel bad. we go out once a week, take out another or two and the rest DH cooks. I dont cook AT all.
