Do you always tip your waiter or waitress, or does it depend on service?
I USUALLY tip, but will tip considerably more for excellent service. I won't say always, because if you piss me off enough, I won't. It takes quite a bit to really make me that dissatisfied though.

Re: Poll: about tips
I always, always tip everybody - servers, (food) delivery guys, cab drivers, people who helped us with bags/wheelchair in the airport recently.
I will tip less for terrible service, but that really hasn't happen anywhere that I didn't already expect the service to suck ass because of the nature of the place.
I always tip 20%. I've never had service so bad that I've given less, but it's not out of the question, I guess.
ETA: I have tipped more for really excellent service, though.
I always tip, and consider myself a good tipper. I've personally never had a waiter or waitress piss me off enough where I wouldn't consider leaving a tip.
I do have a problem with all the tip jars that are popping up all over the place though. It just seems that every food place you go to now has one.
The least amount I would tip someone is 15%. I always tip 20% though otherwise. I am not even sure the last time I tipped 15%. OH - yes I do. When the last hairstylist gave me pubic curls for "bangs".
I always tip waiters/esses. If their service is horrible, a couple of dollars regardless of the ticket. Great service is definitely rewarded!
I understand that they make a low hourly wage, but just like anything else, you have to work for your money!
I always tip now. If the service sucks, I don't hesitate to leave spare change so they know how I thought about their service.
My H overtips for everything.
Depends on the service.
if they suck (I mean awful!) my "Tip" will be an actual tip. i.e. - "Instead of talking to your friends at the bar, you should pay attention to your paying customers"
if they were fine I double the tax (unless alcohol was involved)
if they were amazing, I tip based on what i have. There have been times where I tipped $20 on a $25 meal
I always tip, even if it is bad service as long as I eventually get my food.
There have been times when we've walked out after getting drinks because no one came back to take our order for another 20 minutes or so.

I've never not tipped. Usually if the service isn't good and it's actually the waiter/waitress's fault, I'll go 15%---less if it's REALLY bad for some reason.
Usually I tip 18% for average service, and 20% if they're good. If they're somehow outstanding I'd go a little higher.
I love the tip calculator on my phone!
This.
The only time I haven't left a tip was because the waitress was terrible, didn't stop by, didn't refill, we waited forever and then she LEFT. Like ended her shift, and didn't notify anyone. I had to go ask some other girl who had no idea we had just been abandoned. I gave the waitress who helped me a tip, but definitely didn't leave anything for the original.
Otherwise, I always tip 15-20%. More if it's awesome service.
