stupid question about buying Mylar balloons online...

Okay, so the theme for Stephy's party is Angry Birds.  I wanted to get the Mylar balloons of the birds.  Party City didn't have them in store but had them on the website and if I bring the packing slip/receipt they'll inflate them for free.  Well, the balloons are out of stock and who knows when they will be available.  I found them on other websites but of course I will have to pay additional money to go to Party City and have them inflated for me.  Has anyone got balloons online and then paid someone else to inflate them? Was it a rip off?  How much did you pay?

Re: stupid question about buying Mylar balloons online...

  • I get mine inflated at ShopRite. I think its a dollar per balloon....?
  • i have purchased online and then purchased one of those inflate-your-own boxes... and used that to inflate the mylar + some extra latex that it comes with.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I did that for nora's "Olivia" party.. Bought the balloons from a different website an had them inflated at party city.. I want to say it was 60 cents a balloon? Kind of a lot but I didn't have that many and they do it for you and add ribbon, so it was easier than buying a tank.

The inflate your own boxes are not made for mylars.

    A. the tip is different.

    B. the Helium comes out really fast and if you can get it on that tip without ripping it it might pop the mylar.

  • I did a few years ago - I thinki paid $1.25/balloon? This was at a local party store, not a Party City.

  • I know it's not cool to self promote but Miller's Rentals on Route One in Edison has the Angry Birds balloons in stock.  Call and ask for Jodie and she can give you pricing.  732-985-3050.

  • I always rent a small tank from party city and blow up m balloons myself- I usually have a ton of balloons though since that is really my only decoration and the parties are always out in my yard-

  • i just ordered a bunch of balloons, some really big, from bargainballoons.com and i'm getting them filled at party city. did this last year too for ds's bday...i also bought a small tank at michaels with the 40% off coupon. It came to about $17.00 and it can inflate about 30 regular latex balloons..
