Help with an activity for a get together
On Feb 12th I'm hosting some of my college friends, their significant others and their kids at my home for brunch. There will be 14 adults and 9 kids. The kids are mostly boys except my two daughters (ages 4 and 19 months) and one other two year old. The ages of the boys range from 10-4. My playroom is equipped for a four year old princess so I am worried the older boys will be bored out of their minds. I wanted to come up with a fun activity for them.
Any ideas are appreciated.
PS: I'm sure the boys will have the video games etc to keep them occupied but I really wanted to organize something that the kids can do together.

Re: Help with an activity for a get together
It's probably going to be hard to come up with something for that age range.
How about an art activity? Maybe just put out some markers, colored pencils, paper, etc. Not sure how messy you're willing to get but you can also have the kids make playdough (or you can make it beforehand) and have them play with that.

I was just flipping through the Oriental Trading catalog and they had some cute stuff. Like decorating treasure boxes or decorating small biodegradable planters then add seeds.
Last year my moms group made Valentines for the local Ronald McDonald house. Would boys be into that? I had loads of stickers and papers and fun scissors and the kids just went nuts. But the boys in our group were younger. Not sure if a 10 yr old would do that.

What about pretzel making? You can have the dough ready and everyone can roll away and then you bake and eat - YUM!
I've done this as a playdate for boys and girls and it's been a hit.......
