Which car seat would you take on the plane?

Which one and why? DS needs a seat for the plane and the rental car.

  • Cosco.  It's small, light and cheap so you won't be as worried about damaging it

  • Costco, but I'd check it not take it on the plane.  Carseats on planes are a huge PITA!

  • Ditto Cosco and ditto checking it.
  • How long is the flight? If the flight is going to be fairly long I'd take the Radian and use it on the plane. I would preboard in order to get the seat installed and good to go before the rush of people. If it's a short flight I'd take the Costco and check it.
  • I would check the car seat. Unfortunately it puts them in just the right position to kick the hell out of the seat in front of them. I spent my last flight with DS holding down his legs, the entire flight. That will be the last time I ever take a car seat on the plane.

  • I would take which ever seat is most comfortable for him to sit it. I wouldn't check it and would bring it on the plane, bungee cord it to your carry-on. Super easy, cheap, and free's up your hands.

We used our britax on an airplane and it was so easy. DD also fell asleep and it made it much easier and comfortable for her. She did much better on the plane when sitting in her carseat.

I don't think I would bring the radian if DS is still RFing because it might not fit so well in the rental. Other than that I think the marathons are the easiest to install of the 3.
