If you own a BOB stroller...

have you ever had a problem with it? I'm debating buying off amazon b/c the price is cheap (359, plus we get our 10% registry discount) instead of waiting to buy at REI in March with the 20% off coupon.

My main idea was that it may be worth paying extra to buy from REI because of their awesome return/replacement policy. However, I don't think I've ever heard of anyone having a problem with theirs. Thought I'd ask the nesties!!!

Re: If you own a BOB stroller...

  • I bought my BOB from LLBean with a 20% off no tax thing. Had a flat tire and took it to REI, they fixed it without a problem, just charged me for the tube. LLBean also has an awesome return policy/replacement policy too. Anyway, REI fully services BOB and BOB pays for the warranty service anyway so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

  • I go to Stroller Strides (an exercise group where we use our strollers) lots of the girls have BOB Strollers, the only problem I've heard of is flat tires but that comes with being outside with air tires it just happens.

I hate to say this but why pay full price?  You can get next to new ones on Craigslist for so much less than you would pay retail.

  • btw BOB's have tremendous resale value, I have had 3, well still have one and the two I've sold on CL, I've sold for almost the same price I bought them new with discounts. They did have a model change in the last two years and the infant seat adapter is now a snap in adapter instead to the stationary bar. I like the newer one a little better than the older models. It's not that different though.

  • We've had our BOB for 3 years and the only thing that has happened is one of the straps holding the basket snapped. It wasn't because we did anything to it, we've flown with it 6 or 7 times, and one of the times we gate checked it they must have handled it roughly.  If we hadn't done that it would be in perfect condition.

  • I absolutely love mine, its the stroller that stays in my car, DH has the citi mini.  The BOB is great for unpaved walks, which is all we have up here.  I've had a few flat tires, but a little slime in the tubes and I've been flat free for over a year.  Can't say enough about them, might even buy a double BOB someday :)

  • I bought mine from REI but I've never had a problem with it at all.  When we were in Steamboat a few months ago we got our first flat tube (after almost 2 years of very significant use) but that was only $4 to get a new one (available at any bike store and definitely not something to need to go to the seller).  I would buy it wherever its cheapest.

  • We have a BOB and LOVE it.  To prevent it from getting a flat, which seems to be the main complain people just wrote about, someone told us to spray the inside of the tires with this bike tire goop stuff (it is like $4 at any bicycle shop).  We did that when we first got it and haven't had any problems.
