My husband and I adopted our pug almost a year ago, He is now 3 years old, my problem is that he still has "accidents" in the house( it isn't helping that it is winter and he doesn't like to go out in the cold). I have read on several pet sites that it can take 6 months for a pug to stop having accidents in a new home.... but our hasn't and he seems to be doing it purposly esspecially when we leave to go to work..... any suggestions ? he is crate trained but as soon as we put him into the crate he freaks out and then finds a way to break out of it ( he will be out of the crate and it will still be latched shut i think he is houdini's reincarnate!) any suggestions to get him to go out side?

Re: Pug Problems
Start over with housetraining, as if he were a puppy. Take him out often. When he goes outside, praise like crazy.
Do you have a wire crate? If so, try a plastic "airline" style crate. Or vice versa, if you have the plastic crate.
