Doggie Play Groups

Any recs for dog play groups or half day doggie day care (with play) near Arvada/Golden.

Recently Teton has been acting out and I think it is because he is not getting enough attention/exercise.  I have been trying to take him for runs/walks, but they are not nearly long enough.  Dh and I have both been uber busy.

This is the first weekend we are taking him to the mountains since Christmas, and he is itching for a hike and run.

We want a reputable place but that is not big $$$$.

We are just thinking a few hours a week, we feel bad not being able to play with him enough.  I am being a bad Mommy Sad

TIA

Re: Doggie Play Groups

  • I don't know places out that way, but you might even try 1 or 2 full days of day care a week. They are usually 22-25 bucks for a full day, and then he could get in a lot of playing. Every place I have seen offers half days too, usually around 15-18 dollars.

  • There is a Camp Bow Wow at 1-70 and ward. My parents have taken their dog there quite a bit until he started getting too old to handle that much activity. The set up a kiddie pool in the summer for the dogs and have cameras that you can watch online. I think they pay 35 a day.

  • Rover retreat near I-70 and Kipling does daycare, though not sure on the rates. We use them for boarding. Harvey is always so excited to go, and plays so hard he sleeps a lot when we get home.
