I have made a lot of new soups and stews lately; not sure if your kids will eat stuff with lentils, black beans, sausage, etc.? I have made this recipe twice and it is so good, you just need to start the marinade the night before. We do it on the grill but Molldoll made it in the oven and said it worked well in there, too.

I made this using pork chops and it was very good. It would probably be good on chicken as well: http://sweetsbeginning.blogspot.com/2011/05/fc-day-21-maple-balsamic-glazed-pork.html

This came out really good and it's easy. I used chicken breasts instead of thighs and chunked them before putting into the crockpot.
Crockpot Sesame Chicken
2 1bs. skinless, boneless chicken thighs.
1/2 c. low sodium soy sauce
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Whisk together remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over chicken.Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or on high 3 or 4. Serves 4 - 6
