Re: car seat

  • J was in it for 1 year. He was 20lbs at his first bday.  Then we switched.  C is still in it and will be til 20.  Try carrying the carrier with her in it and J on your hip + diaper bag. My arms look good at least.

  • Mini was in hers until she was like 14 or 15 months old but she was tiny. I didn't lug the seat around once she was sturdy enough to go straight into the stroller or a shopping cart. I just used it as her carseat.
  • About 9-10 months old....A was about 22 lbs. Ditto what Margie said. At a certain point I stopped lugging her around in it and the carrier portion just stayed in the car and was used only as a carseat.

  • we switched right after her first birthday.

  • My son is almost  10 months and probably 19 lbs now I use it in the car but I don't carry him around unit as it is way to heavy now. We will be switching to his convertible car seat soon as he is going to be to tall for the infant seat soon.

  • About 11/12 months. Despite it being heavy, its convenient. You'll miss the ease of it when its gone. No more quick running in for coffee, etc. And try juggling a baby trying to grab every at the counter, with your coffee and your wallet while paying. I miss mine sometimes.

We kept that one in DH's car until he reached the height max but didn't carry him around in it ever.

  • we just switched T into hers, the carrier was to heavy for me to carry and i was just leaving it in the car anyway because she hated staying in it and always wanted to look around.

  • I agree with what Kendra said!  I miss the infant seat.  We stopped using it at 9 months, K no longer fit in it after her cast was put on.  She would have probably outgrown it by height before a year anyway.

The convertible seat is a pain IMO.  It is hard to get her in and out RF bc she's so tall and has especially long legs!  She actually had more room to stretch out in the infant seat.

    This is what I'm finding.

  • That is one of the reasons I waited to switch. I put J ff at 22lbs.  He was in convertible 2x prior when he had surgery and cast and it was a PITA for me.  With 2 kids now I hope she stays in the infant set as long as possible.

  • At 8 months he hit the height limit. I do miss being able to lug him around in it, but not some much b/c it was so heavy. He hit 20 lbs at 4 months so that thing was heavy as hell.

  • we also switched at 8 months because A hit the height limit.  I was sad because I missed the convenience like other ladies said.  I used the snap & go a LOT when I went shopping so weight really wasn't an issue most of the time.
  • Between 7-8 months. A was a big boy. We used the convertible car seat since. I had no issues switching.

  • We switched G to a convertible car seat when he was about 11 months, I think.  He was still far under the weight limit of the seat but was getting too long for it.
