Restaurant rave! Tocabe

We saw this place on diners drive-ins and dives and drove across town to check it out.  SOOO worth it!  Really yummy Indian fry bread tacos with hominy-cranberry salsa. O and the babies gobbled it up too.  It's at 44th and Lowell.

 

I grew up near there and it used to be a consignment store. I can't get over how much that part of town has changed!

It is insane how much it has changed!  Even in the past 4-6 years it has been remarkable shift.  I thought Tocabe looked awesome on that show.

My MIL lives down the street. We love that place. That area has changed so much like P said even in the last 5 years. There are lots of yummy restaurants along 44th there.

Our must have is the fry bread nuggets are like warm tiny donuts....yum. Oh and the nachos with homemade queso.

Yum, sounds good! DH's friend lives near there so we'll be sure to check it out next time we're there.

Until a week ago, I lived pretty much across the street from there. I was sad to move away, but our house was tiny and ancient and needed way too much work. I was so surprised to see Tocabe on Diner, Drive ins and Dives.  It's pretty popular, but we didn't go often because I can only justify eating Indian fry bread every once in a blue moon.

Yeah, it's neither a diner, and drive-in not a dive.  But it's good for sure!
