We are going to a board metting/ Robert Burns dinner in NY state that was cancelled from last weekend due to the snow. Let me preface this buy saying there will be a lot of drinkers at this party. I had spoken to the Host the day before and she realized she didn't have any desserts.... so we went out and bought a cheesecake but H could not put it in the freezer without it haunting him so we ate it.
But my thought was to make a trifle of some sort... then I saw some cheesecake stuffed strawberries that looked good too. I have to go get a strawberry huller at BBB though if I decide to do this. So now I'm torn Strawberries are on sale this week but still thinking the trifle might be easier to transport for an hour drive we do have an electric cooler in the car.
I had an awesome recipe for one that I found in a womans mag that I never made...either Womans world or You. It was for a choclate chip cookie trifle. But now I can not find the damn thing. The party/ meeting starts it 2 pm on Saturday so we have to leave early but I am off on Friday to make it. What are your favorite trifles. If you read this this far Thanks.
Re: What is your favorite trifle dessert recipe..... long

Death by chocolate.
Bake a box of brownies, let it cool and poke holes when cool. Pour 1/3 cup Kaluah (sp?) over the brownies and break them up.
Also, make 2 boxes of chocolate mousse (I like Oetker brand). You will also need some crushed heath bar and cool whip.
1/2 brownies broken up, then half of the chocolate mousse, then you put some crushed heath bar on the mousse, followed by cool whip. Then repeat layers again.
This one is also really good...
