Ladies with CRV's or RAV 4's

HI!  i have a question-  do any of you (with bigger dogs) travel with them in the "trunk"?  i could put some dog beds and blankets back there for them.

we have 2 babies on the way and with two carseats, there will be no room for them in the back seat anymore.

if they can ride back there, i want to start prepping them now so they don't try to jump the seats when the babies are there.

Re: Ladies with CRV's or RAV 4's

  • You can put them back there just make sure they're crated or harnessed.  Congrats!

  • I put my fairly big dogs in the "trunk".  Riley is about 65 pounds, Lucky is 50 pounds and they both fit fine.  Riley always loved riding in the backseat of my Element but I couldn't see letting her scratch the leather of my CR-V so I put her back in the trunk and she is happy as can be.

  • When I had my crv they're both back there.. I have a jeep now and they stay back there now too!
  • I can not tell you how MUCH i LOVE my Rav for kids and dogs.

I have third row seating, so, if needed, I belt them into the back back seats.  But what i've done with other dogs is used their seat belts and leashes to hook them to various other parts of the car back there (like the carseat hooks and oh sh!t handles) so they are at least minimally confined and safe in case of a wreck.

Crating is best, of course, but I realize that's not always an option.
