are there any outside cafe places

by lake eola? going to the fall festival at lake eola and would like to grab some lunch down there, but its been so long since i've been there that i have no idea what is down there anymore! can anyone recommend a place in walking distance that has outside seating and yummy food?

Re: are there any outside cafe places

  • The Globe is the first place that comes to mind. It's part of Wall St. Plaza, so not on the lake, but a very short walk. I still miss the menu that they had under their old ownership, but the current menu is good too.

There is also a Panera next to Lake Eola. I'm blanking on the street address, but I'm sure you can find it online.

There used to be that 903 Cityside (owned by the folks from 903 Mills), but I heard a rumor that it closed down. Anyone know if that's true?

There's also Eola Wine Company, which I haven't been to yet, but keep hearing about, and if you go over in the direction of Thornton Park, there's a bunch more places there. I think Wildsides and a couple other places seat outdoors.

Have fun--this is perfect weather for dining al fresco! :)

  • My hubby works downtown and his coworkers always go to Spice after work. Their outdoor area is right on the lake, which is nice! There is a more casual spot (can't remember the name!) that is also right on Lake Eola. Just walk around the lake and you'll run right into it. :)
    Hawaii
  • Sam Snead's also has a patio for outside dining.  It faces Lake Eola.  That may be the place smilejenn is referring to.
  • Sam Snead's closed their Lake Eola location over a year ago. :( There's a new restaurant scheduled to open in that space, but I don't think they've opened their doors yet.
    Hawaii
  • eric's is the place right on lake eola (if you're facing the ampitheater, it's off to the left) i highly recommend the corn dog nuggets!
  •  Ah - that's the name!!! It's a great location :)

  • The Panera is a good bet, otherwise anything on Wall Street like the Globe or Cantina might be less busy since its off the beaten path from the festival. I'm going too :)
  • I like Wildsides.... It's not ON the lake, but it's just a short walk away (a couple blocks). Wildsides is a barbeque restaurant and they have outside seating as well.
  • Anthony's Pizza has patio dining and it's off the lake as well. (so it might be a little less crazy) Fabulous pizza!!! (It's across from the BBQ place)

Isn't that sad? That's where we had our rehearsal dinner and it's no longer there....
