What smart phone apps do I need?

So work gave me an iPhone, and I'm pretty sure I'm not using it to its full potential. Besides Angry Birds, which apps should I check out?

Re: What smart phone apps do I need?

  • That's really cool!

I love the Goodreads, Kindle, Nook, and Mint Apps, and my H loves the Pandora and Hey Tell Apps. Our bank also has an app which I love. And, I love wasting time on Tiny Tower. Oh, Alchemy is really fun too! And Words with Friends! (I was wasting too much time on it and had to quit)

    Have fun! :)

  • I've been finding TapRanch and TapFish rather addicting
  • Aside from games, I like yelp, gas buddy, flixter, pandora.
  • OK, what are these? Other than the obvious ones, that is.

  • Goodreads- helps me keep track of books I read and get recommendations
    Kindle/Nook- Ereader apps
    Mint- money management/budget app
    Pandora- music stations
Hey Tell- push to talk (like a walkie talkie) app
Tiny Tower, Alchemy, and WwF are all games

  • I'm a tightwad so I gravitate towards the free apps.  Some I use all the time:

    Facebook

    AAA

Foodnetwork(good for shopping for certain recipes)

    linkedin

    PG&E

Happy Birthday (links with your facebook and gives you an alert when its someone's b-day)

Check Please-This is a great app especially if you dine out with friends a lot and split the check.  You put in the total amount of the check, choose what percentage of tip you want, and then choose how many people you want to split it by.  Used it today with a bunch of friends at work.

    Youtube

    Amazon

    TMZ

    Eonline

various news sites (ABC, USA Today, ETC)

World Clock (since DH is working in Afghanistan)

BUMP-You need this APP!  Load Bump, and when you meet a new person that also has and Iphone and they have bump, you litterly 'bump' phones and it exchanges your contact information.  You don't have to load anything in....

Those are my most favorite right now.  I'm not a gamer, but I am a reader...so I gravitate to those types of apps.
