Moms: How old for a Booster Seat for the car?
Out of curiosity - At what age or weight do you start the booster seat?
Re: Moms: How old for a Booster Seat for the car?
Minimum guidelines are 4 years/40 lbs. But the most important criteria is that the child is mature enough to sit correctly. They need to not slump (then the belt is repositioned), unbuckle themselves, put the belt behind their back, lean out of position, etc. And they need to not slump over in the seat while sleeping.
Julia moved right at 4 because she was mature enough and she outgrew her radian for harness height so we had no choice (the only seat that would have given us significantly more time was a frontier, but that doesn't fit in my car). Emma will not move until she's quite a bit older because she's not compliant with rules. Julia is told a rule and follows it, Emma tests rules in every way possible, so it won't be safe to put her in a booster until she's far older (probably close to 6 for her).
