WW and breast feeding

Does it work? I want to lose 20 more lbs and it looks like WW is the best but they are giving me 40pts,is that a lot? And I'm planning to do it online due to schedule.

Re: WW and breast feeding

  • I did it while BFing before they changed to Points Plus and I had I think 36 points at that time. I lost like 50lbs while BFing. And yes, 40 pts is a lot. Enough extra to give you what you need to maintain your supply.
  • 40 pts seems like a lot, I have 26, however you burn a lot more calories and need more food bfing, so it seems right.  Good luck!

  • I think this is right.  They changed their points and a lot of things are more points.  You can always figure out the calories you are eating and gauge it that way.

  • Before this pregnancy, I struggled to lose weight after giving birth.  I was one of the unlucky ones that held on to weight while BF'ing instead of losing ; )  I consistently lost 1-2 pounds per week using WW, eating ALL my daily points, and MOST of my weekly points.  I got 45ish points, if I remember correctly (could have been 46 now that I think about it).  Seriously, eat them all and follow the good health guidelines (fats, water, exercise, etc) and you'll do great.  Don't expect to lose more than 1 pound per week though because you shouldn't!  It's not healthy for BF'ing (you release toxins into your blood supply therefore your breastmilk) to lose weight too fast (and thereby have those built up toxins flood your system and your breastmilk).  Good luck mama!  You can do it!!
