How do you clean gunk off cookie sheets?

Obviously it won't just come off in the dishwasher.  I saw some ideas online, but wanted to know what has worked.

TIA!

  • I normally lurk here but my mother in law just gave me a super trick for this.  Scatter cascade (or maybe any powder) dishwasher detergent and fill it with super hot water and let it soak for a bit.  It works great every time for me.  I have done it on glass, baking sheets and my calphalon with great results!

The "miracle" of baking soda and peroxide. Put 1/4 cup of baking soda in a bowl.....add enough peroxide to make a paste. Rub on with fingers or sponge. Cleans EVERYTHING! Stove, oven, pans, stainless steel applicances, even the white handles of the refrig door.

  • All of the above tips are great.  Sometimes when stuff gets baked on, I just lay a damp washcloth over it for a few hours, the gunk absorbs it and becomes soft.  Doesn't work for every mark on the sheet, but gets larger pieces off.

    Yes

I know I'm late to the party, but I tried this and it works really well.  I had a sheet that really looked like the right side of the picture and it just took a little bit of elbow grease.
