Any idea what this cough could be?
RP woke up around 1 am with a very croup-y cough. He said his throat didn't hurt, he did t have trouble breathing, ex. I gave him so e water and he went back to bed. He got uponce more after that but again, went right back to sleep. He got up this morning, acting fine, says he FEELS fine, but still has a trace of the cough.
Any ideas? We do have forced hot air, but it really doesn't get dry. I guess I could try a humidifier, but it's really not dry up there.
This is what I get for calling him out sick yesterday for a Mommy-RP day!!! Never lie about your kid being sick, lol!
Re: Any idea what this cough could be?
The kid in my office yesterday was 9. I know not typical for kids over 5 to get it, but it does happen. I'm ready to kick this girl's a$$. So nice that you bring the kid in for 6 hours hacking all over all of us that have little kids at home.
Anyway, I hope RP feels better!
Ryan had croup about 2 weeks ago. We had never heard what it sounded like before so we freaked and called 911. Pretty sure the docs their said even kids RP's age can get it.
After the hospital visit Ryan still had a bit of a cough, but no where near what it sounded like that night.
My brother had croup all the way until HS (that's when I moved out so he may have gotten it even in HS for all I know). He had asthma though.
The other things that have caused coughs like that in my kids are sinus infections and bronchitis. Actually every cough M gets sounds like croup. The doc says it's because his throat gets irritated in the same manor as croup and its "just the way he is".
