What does STTN mean to you?

There are a couple of other moms who have babies close to C's age and we have totally different definitions as to what constitutes sleeping through the night. So now I'm curious, what does STTN look like to you?

Re: What does STTN mean to you?

  • At least a 6 hour stretch means STTN to me.
  • Well right now it is S going to bed at 9am and not waking up till 8am.
  • To me it means sleeping from when you put them to bed until the next morning, 10hrs+.

  • Okay, so they are the crazy ones. "she sleeps through the night and only nurses once or twice" does not mean STTN to me. That's called waking up once or twice a night.
  • sleeping through the entire night. L still nurses 1-2 times each night.
  • A reasonable bedtime until the morning IMO. Jude sleeps 7-2am, nurses then sleeps til 6am..He isnt STTN. When he goes 7-5, I willl call it STTN since both J and I are up at that time. I also laugh when moms put babies to bed at 11 or midnight then call it STTN.

Exactly. They sleep from when you put them in their crib at night until you take them out the next morning. I've also called it "a reasonable hour to go to bed until a reasonable hour to wake up."

Ditto this. Except I don't get up at 5 :)

  • STTN = me not being woken up by anything but my alarm :)

    exactly

and Amelie is getting closer, but she's nursing at least once each night, sometimes more. Owen was 11 months old. Amelie will be a year in 10 days. ::gulp:: I've never pushed it. Both of my kids get up, eat and go directly back to sleep. That, to me, says they need it.
