Re: Tasty Tuesday
Nothing I cook is really amazing...I'm just not that good at it.
We did go to Harry's in St. Augustine in December for appetizers and drinks and their fried green tomato appetizer is one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was serious competition for the pork flatbread from Seasons 52.
I made this, sort of. I modified for the crockpot. Used chicken breasts, put all the ingredients in, cooked all day. Pulled it and slapped it on Kings Hawaiian rolls. Yuuuummmm! The leftovers were even better.
I tried Entwine brand Cabernet Sauvignon and really loved it!
BF recently made his first batch of beer and we're doing a tapping party. I made these whiskey glazed ribs about 2 months ago and will be making them again for the get together this weekend. Looking forward to a really yummy dinner.
As for restaurants, nothing new, but I've recently been introduced to the Outback Crabshack and am in love with their fried pickes & fish sandwich. Yummm....
We live about 2 minutes from the Outback Crabshack and have only been once. The food was good but it's pricey. We went for dinner though. I've heard they have good lunch specials.
Yum! Did you cook a full 8h? And did you have to add any extra water?
I made Weight Watchers Cheesy Chili Mac for dinner last night. It wasn't amazing but it was good and filling. I combined everything except the noodles in the crock pot before work and set it to the lowest setting. DH added the cooked noodles when he got home. It turned out well.
A few weeks ago I went with some work people to a newer restaurant downtown called Jaco's and it was pretty good. It's a little pricey. It's on the water and they have a nice outside area. I'd like to go back and try their brunch.
I haven't had any good drinks lately. L3 is making some sort of punch with Moscoto for our Glee viewing tonight. That should be good.
Sadly, I don't think I have anything to add to this post. The most exciting thing I ate recently was the Chicken Bryan from Carrabba's. (goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, yum!)
I'm on a big wine kick (preferably Cabs) and I'm afraid I'm growing out of $5 wines and moving more toward $10 wines. This is not going to be good for my budget...
My Ovulation Chart
Yes, it cooked 8 hours. I didn't add any liquid. I made the sauce the night before so it was good and happy. I put about half of it over the chicken while cooking. Then, when the chicken was done, I pulled it and mixed in the rest. The whiskey flavor is definitely there and even more so in the leftovers. FYI.
