So, yesterday, my MIL called me and said her coworker had an aunt who passed away and she inherited her house & the contents. The coworker's aunt was apparently a serious quilter, and the coworker just wanted to pass on all of her quilting stuff to someone who would use it. I offered to pay for it, but the lady insisted that I could just have the boxes. BOXES??? (whoa)
H had a great idea though. Since some of the stuff in there are apparently pre-cut squares, maybe I could make MIL's coworker a lap quilt using the fabrics her aunt cut out (as a thank you and a way to remember her aunt by). Would this be a nice gesture or weird?
Re: Whoa...lots of craft stuff coming my way
I think that would be a nice gesture and something she would probably treasure.
It will be like Christmas when you get those boxes
So jealous!
I think it would be sweet to make her a quilt. That's awesome!
I agree that that would be awesome and thoughtful.
I am excited to see what you get!
Stand up for something you believe in.
I think that is a great idea.
Perfect way to say thank you!
Thanks y'all! I thought it was a great idea, and was surprised DH came up with it! :-)
I'm super excited to see what MIL's coworker is sending me!

Lucky you! And definitely a nice gesture.
The whole thing is also a nice reminder to use that fabric we love so much because then just someone will get it and who knows what they'll do with that fabric you petted and adored and were too scared to cut into!
