New to board, with a sick cat

Hi everyone. My 5 year old (large) male cat has had 6 urine accidents in 24 hours. He has been acting very lethargic. Yesterday during the day I put him in our bathroom with a liter box and food and water. He ate, drank and used the liter box. At night, we let him out and he seemed ok, but still a bit lethargic. This morning, we found 6 decent sized puddles.

I'm trying to make a vet appt for today, but I might have also made myself a bit nutso by googling lots of different causes. Anyone have any similar experiences?

  • Make sure the vet sees him ASAP. Blockages can be fatal in male cats. Good luck! I hope it's easily treatable and he's feeling better soon!

  • It's hard to tell what it could be, but you're doing the right thing by getting him to a vet ASAP. Good luck!

  • Ditto PPs: get him into the vet. UTI or blockage are high on the list of likely culprits for his accidents.
