I emailed my friend, who is a doula and a person I respect (and know not to be nuts), about our obsession over this wacky girl.  Turns out that in terms of her pre-labor exercises and her birth plan, there are actual reality based reasons for her choices.  I wouldn't choose to go this route, but there are many green women who do.  

Now, her going home outfit, her "selfies" and her thinking stress will give the baby "the gay", all outer space wacko ***, lol.   It's sad that this is the face of natural birthing.

her birth plan and all of that stuff, is very typical for someone following the bradly method. But the rest of her life, catching the day, etc, and all of that is just NUTS.

I don't think her birth plan is what makes her crazy, it's everything else...three bags for the hospital....keeping away from gay people, and just unrealistic ideas about life in general.

The birth plan didn't phase me.  The time she spends in daily prep did.  I know that you're supposed to exercise, do kegels and perineal massage, etc.  But she made it sound like she was getting ready for war or something.  My friend was able to make it sound less demanding.

You are right - she has been tainted by the wacko stuff - so when she talks about real stuff it is seen as wacko as well. 

It's great to live in a time and place where we have choices.  A co-worker's daughter is giving birth at a birthing center.  They will use the center and be home within 6 hours of giving birth.  A nusre will visit them the next day to check on the new mom and baby. WOW!  Not my thing - but it's their choice.

If she hadn't posted all that other craziness no one would've even gotten to the birth plan. I don't care if she wants to have her baby in an underwater school bus with a school of sharks watching. It's the over dramatic misinformed "I read two studies so I know everything" narcissism that piqued my interest. That and the mail order bride thing of her meeting him when she was 17-18 and he was in his mid 30's ickiness.

You're right, Lauren.  We did talk about it before her birth plan was posted.  I posted how crazy I thought her baby preparation regimen was.  Then I talked to my friend about it and learned it wasn't as crazy as I thought.  But people thought her birth plan was crazy, too.  And I think her general "extra-ness" colors all her other choices.

It was crazy the amount of interest - from a lot of boards - that came after that particular post, for some reason. I think she got a LOT of new readers after that one. Which makes me kinda mad, because clearly they're already loaded, and now she gets to make more money off all of us watching her. Lol!!
