why wont my daughter nap?!

She wakes up at 6, doesnt go back to sleep anymore. She's down at 12 and is up in a 1/2 hour. I tried putting her down again later (around 3:30/4ish) which I HATE doing since its so close to bedtime but she becomes a miserable monster by 5 if I dont!!

She is too little to go this long on such little sleep!!

Re: why wont my daughter nap?!

  • I feel your pain...Olivia woke up at 6:40am on Sunday and only napped from 11:50 until 12:30. Normally she'll fall asleep in the car and not even that worked on Sunday. Then I had to fight her to go to sleep at 8:30pm...and she still woke up during the night. She'll nap at daycare (and she'll usually do a couple of small naps on the weekend) ... but I'm with you I also think she should be sleeping more. I will say her best nap is usually after swim class on Saturday's because she's so tired. Hopefully someone has some good suggestions since I'm in need of them as well.

She is down to one nap but I don't think she'd ever make it that late, especially when she's waking up at 6 now. I thought I was putting her down too late so I tried 11:30 for a few days and she'd fall right to sleep but be up again in 1/2 hr-45 mins..

    Ugh

  • Well I know Brielle is older than my youngest, but Genevieve still naps twice a day.  She is up between 5 & 6 (been more like 6 lately and I am SUPER happy about that) but she is down for a nap at 9 or 9:30 at the latest.  She sleep for about and hour to an hour and a half and then naps again at 2 for 1.5 to 2 hours.  Can you go back to 2 naps or is that not an option?
