Poll: Do you have niece(s) and/or nephew(s)?

I'm just curious how many of us our aunts to anyone. I am not and for all intents and purposes my parents weren't either. My dad was an only child and my mom was estranged from her sister. So this is a bit of unknown territory to me. Both DH and I are the oldest and none of our siblings are married yet.

One of each on DH's side-who will be arriving into this world soon!! EEK!

I have two nephews, one 15 (about to turn 16, eek!) and a 2-year-old, both from my sister. Dh is an only child, so there won't be any on his side.

Actually I guess DH does have nephews. He has a much older cousin who has 3 boys. The oldest from her 1st marriage is 17 and her 2 younger boys from her 2nd marriage are about 9 and 10. Her 1st husband died in the line of police duty and she married his partner. It was fun to get the oldest boy's senior picture this year because when I met Drew and his family R was 7!

I have two sisters and they each have a 10-year-old daughter.  I'm going to miss them like crazy when we move so I totally get where Andrea was coming from.  Hopefully their moms will either bring them to San Diego or at least put them on a plane so I can see them once in a while.

My sister has 2 girls and they live in Texas (BOOOO) and my husband's brother has a boy/girl from his first marriage, and 2 girls from his second marriage. We have lots of nieces!!

One niece (13 yrs old) and two nephews (6 & almost 10) - both from DH's side.

I have a sister but she's not having kids anytime soon - she needs to actually live in one state for a while instead of move around every few years.

my side i have 4 nieces 1 nephew.  i also have 1 great nephew and had a great niece as well.

on hubby's side 2 nieces and soon to be 1 more niece in april.  

that's a lot of girls.  lol

We have 1 niece and 1 nephew on my husband's side.

DH and I are both onlies, so no biological nieces or nephews.  However, he has a cousin who is 15, and I consider her my niece.  Also, my cousin has a daughter who just turned 13, and I call her my niece also.  These two are the only kids we'll get to call niece and nephew, so we roll with it.

Yes, I know technically but in reality with the age difference it's not treated that way. For all intents and purposes Drew's much older cousin is an aunt to him. Just like on my side my dad's cousins were aunts/uncles to me.

I am the only child from my mom and dad. But my mom has 3 kids with my stepdad, and my dad has 2 kids with my ex-stepmom. I consider them brothers and sisters (not half, even though they technically are). I'm the oldest. My brother (3 years younger than me) and his girlfriend are expecting a boy in April, so I will have a nephew! And, Bro's GF already has a 4 year old son from a previous relationship that I've never met, and I would consider him my nephew.

Huz is an only child, so we won't have nephews or nieces from his side.

We also have 5 Godkids (four boys and one girl) that we adore.

Huz's family is Filipino, so any cousins or kids of cousins that are younger than us, call us "Auntie" and "Uncle" too.

my dad's parents were only children and my mom (whose family is like fleas on a dog, it's that BIG) had to explain to my dad how his older brother's kids were related to his older sister's kids ie cousins. he never had cousins/aunts/uncles growing up - it was completely new to him.

My side has six (Sis/BIL have three; one girl, two boys. Bro/SIL have three; one boy, two girls). H's side has two (BIL/SIL have one of each). They're all six years old and under.

None of them are local to us, so right now, the Aunt/Uncle job is limited to occasionally visits and phone calls.
