I have a questions...Well just need an explanation.
What exactly is Craft room? Is it free? I'm so confused!
Re: Cricut Craft Room ?
It's free but I think you can only use the cartridges that you have. I think I read that you can buy different cuts, but I am not sure.
I used it for the first time last weekend and I liked it. It sorta reminds of me of Design Studio a little.
Yes it is free.
You can play around with all the cartridges I think, but you can only cut with ones that you own - it'll ask you to put them in your cricut when you come to cutting (if you use more than one it'll ask you to insert next cartridge.
You can do a bit of welding, and kind of build things onto different layers to cut (Im trying that now for the first time so we'll see how that goes).
It also lets you put the shapes where you want them to be cut on the "mat".
And you can stretch and squeeze and have different sizes of shapes (so more sizes than what you get just using the cricut sizing)
Im still playing with it and learning as I go....
The only annoying thing is if the cricut website goes down (which it seems to occasionally) craft room doesn't work... of course you need to be connected to the internet while using it too!
And yes I think you can by different cuts from the cricut website but I haven't looked into that yet....
I don't have the gypsy or design studio so I have no idea!
You can try it out for free though... you don't have to register your cricut or cartridges or anything, but I think you might have to update your cricut when you connect it... at least I did. So if you have SCAL or MTC that might be an issue. But you don't have to connect you cricut to try out the program if that makes any sense... my brain is a little sleepy these days
It sounds exactly like the Design Studio and Gypsy. I have Design Studio and LOVE it! The advantage to DS and Gypsy is that you don't need an internet connection to use them. I do most of my scrapbooking at crops, and many of those locations don't have wi-fi, so I wouldn't be able to use Craft Room. If you scrapbook at home, then Craft Room seems like an alternative to buying DS or the Gypsy.
Oh, and my understanding is that you can buy individual images or fonts on Craft Room and don't have to buy a whole cartridge.
