2 Year Old Birthday Party

Can you give me your 2 year old birthday party ideas or parties you have been to?  We were thinking a kids party and then a small family party, but then we weren't sure.  Sometimes I think its easier to just do 1 - I have no idea.  Her birthday is in May so we have some time but I want to start thinking of ideas.

 TIA

Re: 2 Year Old Birthday Party

  • That's exactly what we did! We did a small kids party at a playplace and then a small family party (I think it was about 20ish people or so!).

  • We didn't have one for Scarlett this year since we were moving, but I was planning to do a "monster mash" theme. I was going to hire someone to come in and play songs for an hour since Scarlett loves music and dancing, and found all sorts of really cute monster decorations on etsy.  I still love the idea-maybe next year.  Her bday is in December so I needed an indoor idea.

  • We had family/friends - in the backyard, had the Fun Bus come... served pizza and subs (and salad) and then cake. Started at 2, everyone was leaving by 5.

  • For my older son we just did family parties until he was 4. I saw no reason to do a kids party since he was too small to care.  The kids parties started when he had a circle of friends from school and our friends started having kids.

  • Oh, i was planning to invite her friends from daycare, friends of ours with kids and then immediate family.  Just one party.

  • For Drew's 2nd we had family and friends at our house and The Little Rockers came.

  • i had family and friends at my house and had the fun bus come. his bday is in november. next year i think i'll probably do a kids party at a bounce place and then a family party. the only "problem" is that some people would probably do both, but i know the family that i'm really close to wouldnt have a problem w/ this.
  • DS had a My Gym party that family came to.

DD will be having a friends-only party with her former music teacher and we will do dinners with each side of the family. (DH is from a very big family - oldest of 9 - so it's tough to have them at things with too many other people!)

  • We did a party at the little gym. had about 10 kids and family came too. I had a little get together with just close family at the house afterwords. (it was only and hour and half at the little gym) I didn't do any food or anything at the house. just deserts and chips that i had in the house and coffee and beer that i already had. and thats where dd opened up her gifts.  We had done pizza at the little gym. cost me about 300 for the party at the little gym.

DD's bday was in April  I would have had it outside but i didn't and it rained that day so thankfully i didn't do that.  This year I am doing something small. a family dinner or a bbq outside just not sure yet.

  • We did Little Gym and invited everyone. No two parties.
  • When Maya turned 2, we did a small friends party at Gymboree, and then we had a family party back at the house afterward.  And I learned my lesson, because she so didn't care about the party.  So I think we'll probably have one party at the house for everyone this time, and if we have a lot of kids coming, get something like a Fun Bus to come.
