Why the DD?

Was there a DD? What happened to the trash the dress chick? I didn't have time to reply yesterday, but was going to this morning and it's gone. We're you girls not playing nice, or did she just delete it because no one was talking to her? Damn it! We need new people to liven this place up!

To be honest, I'm also less inclined to respond when someone new comes along, says hi, but then asks for something right away. I'm friendly in intros but I find that I don't tend to contribute when it's an intro plus a request. Not sure if that makes any sense. It seems like we get a lot of people who intro somewhat enthusiastically but don't really tell us much about themselves, and then disappear.

Yep. I don't even bother to respond to intros because they never come back. Just start responding in other posts. Or in this case, since there's NOTHING GOING ON HERE start your own posts that invite conversation and not just "New here!" and everyone parroting "Welcome!" "Welcome!"

Well shoot, I was going to respond to tell her that there is a "waterfall" at the Jax Zoo, but I couldn't because I didn't feel like using HTML on the iPad.

Soooo, I'm the "Trash the Dress Chick" and that ^^ is what I was attempting to do because as I said in the original post, I've been lurking around TN since TK switched me after the wedding, and I saw that most Intro posts were pretty pointless.  I figured that I could kill two birds with one stone by introducing myself and then start a conversation at the same time. I figured it'd be rather presumptuous to just randomly appear in the group and "ask for something." However, in reading around I realize that most of you know eachother either IRL or atleast by these boards and when 48ish hours came and went and 30 or so people had seen it but hadn't bothered responding that it was just taking up useless space.  Plus, I did get some good ideas from people I work with and the good ol' WWW.  No one was snarky or anything, I just didn't feel the need to leave it hanging out there for no apparent reason since I figured that lack of response was a pretty good indication that no one had any input on it.  On the contrary apparently, since now there's this thread about it.  Anywho0t. I have 'til next Sunday to decide what to do and/or come up with some cool locations.  Feel free to keep throwing ideas out there, I could use them.

As mentioned, there is a small waterfall at the Jax Zoo, in the Oriental Gardens area.  But you're not going to be able to get in there or anything.  If you really want to trash your dress, you could try the fountain in the courtyard at the Landing.

Yeahhh I don't think they'd take too kindly to a girl running around jumping into their water in a wedding dress... not to mention those big a$$ Koi kinda sketch me out.  It'd be pretty funny though I bet. I didn't realize there was a fountain at the Landing but again, doubt I'd be able to get away with it. I have to wonder what the chances would be though. I'm from Vermont so there's no shortage of waterfalls/fountains up there but it would be out of the question in February. I still have a hard time accepting the flatness that is Florida. It's just that I did all my formal shots on the beach to begin with, so I wanted to mix it up a little.

It is not your typical fountain as it is water shooting up directly from the ground. There is also  Friendship Fountain downtown but I am not sure if you would get in trouble or not.

 Fantastic!  I was hoping that there was a fountain like that here. Thanks for specifying, because I don't spend a heck of a lot of time downtown.  Does it stay on year round?

I am not sure. I know they dye the water colors for certain holidays.
