Cat with loose stools - sorry this is gross.
I think Gene has had diarrhea for a couple of days, normally the cats' poop is dark and pretty hard, but his has been very "puffy" for a day or two and loose and today there was actually poop spray on the side of the litter box, like he pooped liquid.
When should I call the vet? Give it one more day?
Should I start with chicken & rice tonight?

Yeah, I would do plain chicken and maybe a little pumpkin and give it one more day. Then I would definitely call, just to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated.

The vet recommended turkey or chicken baby food. I bought beech-nut at my local grocery store (ingredients: Chicken, water) for $0.99 and I just give him one jar in the morning and one jar at night. It's been helping, although slowly.
Interesting, thank you - I can probably get something like this at the CVS which is a convenient on the way home stop. I don't have any chicken breast in the freezer.
This is one thing I hate about having more than one cat - WHO IS SICK?
They're both acting normal, although Gene's nose was dry and a little warmish this morning.
