It's fabulous to have FB so you can get text messages from your 14yo about how unhappy he is with his parents' decision for high school. We must be ruining his life because we are making him go to the truly excellent HS in our neighborhood instead of another HS where *all* of his friends are going (not exactly true, of course) where he *just knows* he'd have tons of classes with all of them.
Sadly, he doesn't see the benefit of going to high school in walking distance, especially with all of the extracurricular activities he's planning on doing, and the fact that his dad/SM won't drive him to many things. Oh yeah, we also moved to this neighborhood for the school as well.
On the plus side, his friends' comments (public & private) and adult friends/family may help him get his attitude in check.
Re: Ah, FB and teenagers...
FB definitely gives you a different look into teenagers lives. I've looked around the walls of my nieces and nephews and find out all sorts of info.
Hopefully he'll come around.
I hear from my 14 year old EVERY DAY about how terrible her life is going to be because I'm not sending her to our neighborhood high school with all her friends. Good LORD, I'm sick of it. I even called her out and told her that she can fail on purpose, start getting into trouble, do all kinds of stupid shiit and I'm STILL sending her to my school.
Aren't kids just so super cool? He'll get over it.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!
