Really furious

So ladies tell me if I'm overreacting here. Ex and I have been working to short sell our home. We have a mediator type person who works to broker the deal with the bank. As part of the process, we had to fill out a financial worksheet with all of our debts, savings, current wages, living expenses and reasons for any hardships (I had to state that I was fired from my job) Anyways we filled these out separately and sent them in. THEN the guy sent us an email and attached BOTH of our statements to each other. As some background, Ex has been so vicious that he actually posted a YouTube hate video about me. So yea, I'd rather he not have any of my information. Anyways the mediator guy who sent it could not understand why I would be upset. Um really? And he actually said, "well it's a unique circumstance that ex's would be uncomfortable having that information shared." REALLY? I highly doubt that. I'm uncomfortable with anyone knowing that much information about me let alone my Ex. So ladies tell me am I overreacting?

SAY WHAT??? I would be livid. I never want my X to have any info that he is not legally required to have. PERIOD.

  • I would be upset.

He has a youtube hate video of you? Whaaat?

  • Okay good. Well I'm glad that it sounds like I was in line. And yes my ex created a youtube video about how awful I was. That I was a fatty, that I cheated on him (not true), that I ruined his life because he couldn't eat pizza everynight. It's actually really funny. He then goes on and on about all of the women he's had since me including a threesome. there is a 30 second ramble about how much he hated my dog. He chugs a PBR, then gives a video tour of his "sweet pad." The best part is he is playing a song suck my d*** in the background. It's pretty insane. He finally took it down from public view, but you better believe I have my own copy just in case.

  • Woah. Sounds like a nut job!
  • "well it's a unique circumstance that ex's would be uncomfortable having that information shared" Completebullshit. I would be hopping mad. Isn't there any action you can take against them, with all the privacy laws out there?

  • You mean normal people don't do that? But yea sort of crazy which is why things like this make me especially uneasy. I just cannot fathom that a professional in any way shape or form thought this was okay. I said "we have no legal connection to each other. Why would it be appropriate you share this highly personal information." Then he tried to go on a rant about how tough his job is blah blah blah. I told him frankly I didn't care. That these sorts of errors are really not acceptable or excusable. Yea I was kinda in a biatchy mood.

Sadly I don't really think so. And really at this point the damage is done. Once the process is over however I will probably write some short, honest, but unemotional online reviews for him.

  • I would be beyond furious. That has to be violating some kind of privacy law/agreement.

And the YouTube video? What the.....I give your X and big ole Hmm

  • I totally get why you are mad, but on the flip side, didn't you have to disclose all that as part of the divorce process? Maybe it depends on the state, but in CA we had to fill out a form listing all of that information to determine alimony and child support. Perhaps the mediator is used to that being the case so he (wrongly) assumed that he was just sharing info you both already knew.

Totally valid point. We didn't have to disclose any information during the divorce process as there wasn't any child support or alimony. And that was over a year ago. I do realize that I'm probably a bit irrationally worked up given my particular situation with the ex.
