Cost of making a Christening dress from wedding gown?

I would really like to have a Christening dress made from my wedding gown.  Has anyone ever had this done and/or know the approximate cost?  I'm also looking for recommendations for someone to do it.  Thanks!

I did. I think I paid around $150 or less.

I did for my daughter. It was around $200

I did--used The Golden Thimble in Rumson (Tatiana, I think).  I paid about 250 and she did an AMAZING job.

I looked into it and the cost was around $300 or so. What I didn't like was that she kept the dress...so essentially she could have made 1 more dress out of my material if she wanted to.  This was the vendor I had looked out and not sure if its the norm.
