Those who have done away with cable tv
What do you do for internet? We have to have internet for school and can't go down to a slow version or something. We were aplnning to get rid of cable but the internet is so much on its own that we won't be saving much.
So I am wondering if I am missing out on some better options. So far we have been quoted $70-$80 for internet service.
Re: Those who have done away with cable tv
I just got cable for the first time last week but my internet is though Qwest, bundled with my home phone line. I would have gotten Direct TV through Qwest, to keep it all on one bill, but my apartment complex doesn't allow satellite dishes. I'm not switching the phone and internet to Comcast because, frankly, I don't trust them and don't know how long I'll keep the cable.
I used to have my internet on a mobile modem through Cricket, before I added the land line to the house for business purposes.

For us when we called we would only save $20 by eliminating cable. After we buy an antennae, and get Netflix and Hulu+ there would be no savings.
I am going to continue to look into other options. Thanks.
