Varsity Letters
Did anyone ever receive a Letter in high school for something other than sports?
I have one from drama. Man it was tough work getting it though. It required all 4 years of high school for that one.
I also lettered in golf lol. I was bummed I never made the varsity soccer team, but I did get to be the second goalie on the varsity team when the star goalie broke her ankle before the CIF championships, so my name is forever in varsity CIF lore lol and they spelled my last name wrong too.

In Texas we have UIL sports and UIL academia. I lettered in UIL academia for Extemporaneous Persuasive Speaking, UIL History and UIL Current Events

I remember my freshman year, everyone expected me to win the Literature Award. There was no doubt about it. Unfortunately the decision maker was a teacher that didn't like me very much and decided to give it someone else. I was shocked.
I still want that award darn it...it was miiiine! lol

Band, choir, key club, and the honors society were my non-sports letters.
And I do have a letter jacket!
A woman after my own heart! They didn't award "letters" for yearbook, but I did it for 3 years and was editor my senior year!
I didn't letter in anything. I was active in extracurricular activities (sports and academic), but just did it for the fun of it with no intent to letter.

I feel ya
I had one for having a 4.0 GPA but I didn't put it on my jacket...I only had my cheerleading one.
And yes, I wore one of those "dumb letterman's jackets."

It's just my opinion. /shrug. Maybe other people had nice jackets but the ones at my highschool looked very similar to the kind in 'Grease'.
Omg, I did Music Man too! That was the musical that got me my letter lol
