Those with an infant in daycare
Do you leave the infant car seat there? I just found out that our daycare does not allow it because they don't have the room to store them for all the babies and can't leave them in the hallway. I never thought of this because at our old daycare when L was a baby we always left it there. DH does drop off and I do pickup. I really don't want to buy another infant car seat. I think we may just get a convertible and have it face backwards in dh's car and he will carry her in so that I can keep the infant seat in my car. What do you do if you can't leave the seat there and share drop off/pick up responsibilities. This also worries me in case of an emergency and my mom having to pick her up.
Re: Those with an infant in daycare
We are allowed to put it under his crib and that is what we do on the rare day that MH is picking up or dropping off. But I'd just get a convertible for YH's car. You'll need it eventually anyway, right?
I am also allowed to leave M's in the hallway on day when we need to. So on days you mom needs to pickup I'd ask them if you could possibly leave it in the office.
We are allowed to keep it there. We keep the Snugrider stroller and the car seat! They have a room where the store the cribs when they aren't being used and it goes in there.
I would do what you said, and buy a convertible care seat now. Actually what we are going to do is move R into the convertible and get S a new seat that changes into a booster.
At the school she was at as an infant it stayed there under the crib.
Her current you can't leave it there. I'm always seeing infant parents lugging them from their cars and it got me thinking how annoyed I'd have been having to buy a second seat since my husband does dropoff and I do pickup.
FWIW, my daycare has carseats for emergency use. I'd never know but when I wa freaked out about going into labor and someone needing to get M they told me they have emergency seats.
