Top Chef 2/1

I can't believe Grayson went home over Ed's undercooked chicken

hated the challenge

but truly HATE PEEWEE HERMAN.  We had to fastforward some as he is so grating and completely creepy

and don't bother to watch last chance kitchen online, the winner is not revealed.

I am so sad about Grayson.

I was going to watch LCK online, but then said, "F it. I bet they don't reveal. I bet they say 'Tune in next week to Top Chef..."

  • It was time for Grayson to go home. I am surprised she lasted as long as she did.

Agreed.  She had the best personality on the show, but she is clearly an inferior cook.  Bev got on alot of peoples nerves but she was really talented and should still be there.

    LCK...ugh.  Don't get me started.

Still got my money on Paul.  However, this season is a huge disappointment and I can't really get that worked up over any of the contestants.  Here's to next season.

  • The editing with that episode was really weird. I would not have  guessed Lindsey to be the winner or Grayson to be sent home.

And I agree, I can't stand Pee Wee Herman either.

Paul is the best one there, hands down. This season has pretty much sucked.

And I guess DH watched the Bravo TV thing (or part of it) and said they don't reveal it.  But, I think I may know who it is based on a convo with someone (don't know if anyone cares, so I don't want to spoil it).

Agree on all counts, especially this season sucking. I still watch because I love Top Chef. But I yearn for Top Chef All Stars.

  • They really are scraping at the bottom of the barrell if their big "celebrity" is Pee Wee Herman!  He gives me the creeps. I wonder how hard it was for the chefs to have to go on camera and talk about their PeeWee Herman memories.  I also wonder how hard it was for them to "rave" about their new Schwinn bicycles when they were 1960's models.

I have not watched last chance kitchen since Nyesha lost to Beverly.  It was so unfair - - they had to switch dishes mid-meal.  Well, duh - of course Nyesha who had done everything ahead of time lost to Beverly the flake.  Nyesha was penalized for Beverly's poor time control.

I hope Greyson comes back, although before she was eliminated I told DD I didn't think Greyson would have made it this far.  She was certainly a good sport in her (she thought) closing words.

If you read Gail's blog about Greyson, she said she went home for three reasons.  One was that the portions were too big for lunch, one was that the ingredients didn't go together ("If it grows together, it goes together," and tomatos and squash do not grow together), and the other was that she took of the skin to be "healthy," for PeeWee, but then loaded the dish up with egg yolk, gorganzola and bacon vinagarette, which took away from her original conception.  It was tasty and 4 episodes ago she wouldn't have gone home for it, but the competition is very tough at this point.

I'm not a super big fan of any chef, but I think all of the chefs left deserve to be there.

  • I don't think they always need to have "big" stars as the guest judges.  I liked the link between PeeWee's Big Adventure and the current location of Top Chef.  I thought it was a fairly fresh concept of putting them on bikes and having to buy/barter their ingrediants and cook in an unusual spot.  It was time for Greyson to go and really at this stage of the game it's all really nitpicky stuff that is used to send someone home.

I think Beverly should still be in.  Granted she is annoing and has a disorganized way to her style but her food has been far better then some of the chefs who were still there after her.

Either way though, my vote is for Paul.  He's been most consistent with his excellent meals.
