Happy G-hog Day, and other randoms
Good morning, pals.
That Phil... he saw his shadow. This means 6 more weeks of winter.

Re: Happy G-hog Day, and other randoms
I don't believe it. I think we'll be swimming in mud until April.
I have to admit I sometimes wish there was snow on the ground so my dog didn't always come in the house with filthy paws. Sometimes I don't catch her when coming in the house and she leaves paw prints all over the house. At least it's wood/tile and not carpet. Yikes.
I won $40 at bunco last night! I won the prize for most buncos with 5 buncos. For anyone who is in the bunco know, this is quite impressive. For the other 99.999% of the population, it mostly means I am a dork that plays an old lady dice game.
Coffee has magical powers. I am hopeful for you.
The lady speaks the truth.
It dawned on me that winter is practically half over and I've gotten pretty much no where on the big projects that I wanted to work on this winter. And looking ahead, our February weekends are pretty busy. So this morning I was thinking that I should just take tomorrow off to get some *** done. But then I remembered that I scheduled a meeting tomorow morning.
Maybe I can take the afternoon off and at least get a few hours of work done on a project.
In a completely unrelated project, I did get my pile of unclassified recipes organized and filed last night. These are the ones that I've been tearing out of magazines and printing off the internet for a year. They were unruly.
Good morning. Cute new pic Wop. She's a doll. Drink that coffee lady. Hope it helps. I'm thinking about a Keurig. My boss has one that I use and it's pretty good. B doesn't drink coffee, so I don't need a big one. I think I'll get one when we get a house. By then, then should be about $50 lol
Charity, I hope your new meds help.
Way to go Hoek. I've never heard of that game, but it sounds like you're a boss at it!
Happy Friday Eve everyone. I took my graduation survey last night and confirmed what I want on my diploma.. now to get through the next 9 weeks!
Ugh, I hate my life today. This fracking appellate brief won't write itself, and now I'm pretty behind since the draft (which needs to be 11-16 pages) is due Tuesday. Not one word is written yet; I don't even have an outline. Oh yeah, and I have a Property midterm worth 50% of my grade two weeks from today.
On a much lighter note, Wop, R is getting so big! I can't believe how much more grown up she looks in your new sig pic.
You're so close!
Some graduation info got sent to our listserve earlier this week and I peeked out of curiosity. Cap & gown rental is $99!
I also found out that this year's grads get 9 tickets each for guests, which is really nice. I was afraid it would be 2.
Yikes... will you have time to work on the brief today?
Yeah, that's all I have to work on today. I'll probably spend six hours on it tonight after class. I'm just hoping that I can be focused and efficient. It also helps that this particular assignment is graded on "good faith" so if it looks like I tried, I'll get all the points. The only catch is that a better draft yields better feedback, which in turn leads to a better final paper that is not graded on good faith.
Wow, $99? Ours is "free". I say "free" because I'm sure we paid for it in the tuition somewhere lol. We don't do tickets either. First come, first serve. We have it on MSU's campus, so it'd be really hard to fill up every seat. 9 tickets is very nice though.
And I'm sure you will get that paper out of the was as soon as you set your mind to it. This too shall pass.
Do you two go to different law schools?
DP, I've found that 40% of a paper's difficulty is getting that first paragraph written. Good luck.
I'm afraid to look at Mlive.
Great job on the recipes, Kasa!
Charity, did the doc say your symptoms sounded like an anxiety attack?
Wop, she's such a cutie!
yay! I LOVE my Keurig. LOVE.
Is it the, um, bold color choice? Does your little stunned emoticon need sunglasses?
Hail to the Victors is running through my head.
Charity, yes. I go to Cooley (the Auburn Hills campus) and DP goes to Wayne State. I couldn't transfer to the GR campus b/c of my clinic this semester and so I could keep my job for a little longer
gotcha
Me too!
And that gives me the SHIVERS (has anyone here read A Prayer for Owen Meany?)
Yes! "Bold" color choice. Giant banners at the top. (Uh, where are the news stories? Ah, yes, let me scroll for a bit.) And headline fonts that are way too big and bold.
Makes me feel like I need to back away from my monitor.
I think the mew Mlive format is an improvement over the old, but really, that's not saying much at all.
The yellow is an interesting decision. I like the front page design; it looks cleaner to me. I hope they continue to design and make the actual story pages look better, too.
Kasa, are you talking about a particular story, or the design?
I have not read it. Please explain!
So true! And thank you.
I know this is a terrible attitude to have, but it's for a pass/fail class and as long as I actually do *something* I'm not in any danger of failing. It will be okay in the end and I know it will turn out fine, it's definitely a matter of getting started.
This semester is much more intense in terms of workload (more reading, job searching/applying, learning how to write yet another completely different kind of paper), but at least there isn't that feeling of panic and insecurity that I had last semester.
