Where are you vacationing in 2012?
I haven't had the opportunity to travel much over the past 5 years because of a low-paying job and lack of time off from work. I'd really like to start taking at least one big trip a year! So where are you going in 2012, and are you already planning vacations beyond this year?
We're going to Jamaica (Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios) in April for our one-year anniversary. We never took a honeymoon, and I've never been to the Caribbean, so I am so, so excited. I just bought my first trip-related purchase the other day, a pair of prescription goggles so I can snorkel and actually see!
We're also likely going to Las Vegas around Thanksgiving for my aunt and uncle's 10-year anniversary. They got married in 2002 in Las Vegas (second marriage for both), and they try to get everyone together every five years for a big weekend party right after Thanksgiving. The five-year party was tons of fun, and I'm excited for my husband to meet my three favorite cousins, who aren't able to come to our wedding.
Then we're looking at 2013 for either a trip to London or a trip to San Francisco. My husband is an Oakland Raiders fan, so he's always wanted to go there, but he's also never been to Europe. I think we could have tons of fun in both places, but I think the deciding factor will be if we have a baby or not -- San Fran would probably be a bit easier with a child in tow.

We are leaving tomorrow for 10 day ski trip to Whistler! We are spending a night on both ends in Seattle.
Does Cleveland for July 4th count?
In August we always go to Ft. L for a week for my birthday. However, now that my parents are retired they plan on living most of the year there so I am hoping they will give us the place for that week still.
We go to the US Open in Sept., but I don't know if that really counts as "vacationing."
We're going to South Dakota this August for our 5 year anniversary. With all the home renovations we have planned our vacation fun is pretty diminished, so we'll do a few smaller trips throughout the year.
We only have 2 things really scheduled this year:
South Carolina beach for a week in June w/ DH's family
Marco Island, FL for a week in September
I'm debating/searching for somethng for our anniversary in May - but it will be kid-free and 2 nights!
We'll probably do a long weekend in July in PA for Dutch Wonderland/Hershey trip.
we don't know yet.....we might just do OC again this year since our budget is pretty strained. our friends' parents own the condo and rent it to us for a pretty good price.
however if there is anything I learned its that vacationing with kids is not really that relaxing.
this is the beauty of the family vacation! Although I do feel a little like my MIL is hovering the whole time, dying to step in and help/take over.
Someone's getting a little brother!
Day trIp to Boston in March (just to have lunch at Quincy Market!)
OC at some point since DH didn't get to go with us last summer.
I really want to take a girl's trip to Vegas with my sister when she stops BFing.
I'm trying to talk DH into a short cruise. Not sure if it will happen but I can dream!
... every single day of forever.
We have many weekend trips planned to Jacksonville to relax. The good thing about living in FL is that you have somewhere to go and stay when you need to get away!
I'm going to Siesta Key with some girlfriends for her bday in April for 6 days.
Nothing else is planned as of now.
I completely read this sentence as "we bought a house in Italy last fall." It took me a few minutes to get what you were really saying.
For our 5 year anniversary, we're staying at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. We'll spend the whole weekend down there.
We have been talking Puerto Rico as a vacation, as well as Europe. DH's school schedule will determine when and where we go.
A night in Philly in March to see the "Van Gogh Up Close" exhibit and eat some good food
Napa/San Fran in May for a week (soo excited about this!)
Bethany Beach with my family sometime in July
Maybe Charleston SC in the fall and maybe Boston later in the year AND maybe Pittsburgh this spring
I wish! If so, I would have called it a villa and that's where we'd be vacationing :-)
misscastle that sounds like a great way to spend your anniversary!!
We're going to Vegas in March for my moms 60th, OC for DH's bday, Aruba for 10 days in Sept, and taking my nephew to Disney World in November. We're going to try and get to OC more on the weekends this summer but I feel like I say that every summer and we only end up going a handful of times.
