Where do you buy stationery?

I need some general thank you notes for DD and DH. My SIL used to sell stationery so I purchased it all through her, however she quit after having her second child.

Looking for something fun and color for DD and something simple and sturdy for DH. Thanks!

Re: Where do you buy stationery?

  • I hope Carebear sees this. She got me personalized note cards for our SS drawing the year before last and they were fantastic. I can't remember where she got them from though.

  • I was fairly impressed with the selection that Target had the last time I was there looking.  Many more and nice options than I was expecting.
  • Are you wanting to buy at a retail location or online?

I get mine at The Stationery Studio.  I get the Glory cards (this might have been what I got Kimmer, too?).  I have some with my name on them (in hot pink! Big Smile) and some with our family name at the top (in black).  I love them b/c they are a really sturdy cardstock (some of their stuff is not, so you have to check - they will mail you samples in case you want to check).

They have TONS of other stuff, though.  It's almost a little overwhelming to look through.  But I have been happy with the company.

I'm so happy to hear that you really like them, Kimmer!  Big Smile  Something like that, especially personalized items, can be a hit or miss.

It doesn't matter as long as I can personalize them. Thanks!

Thanks. I just realized that I forgot to say that I'd like to have them personalized. I do love the stuff they've brought in at Target though. Cute!

  • Thanks for the suggestions SAD and Carebear! I love that the one vendor will send you paper samples!

  • I like Minted.com. They always have cute stuff. If I can't find something what I'm looking for there (or if I can't customize it enough) I use Etsy.

Thanks for suggesting local businesses!  I am a stationery sales rep and both of these stores have great selections and customer service.

Other local options are: Dromgoole's (Rice Village), Katie & Co. (Washington), Paper Lane (Katy),Paper Daisy (Cypress), Zulees (The Woodlands), The Villager (Memorial), The Monogram Shop (Galleria), Alspaugh's Ace Hardware (Kingwood-she does free printing) to name a few.

  • I also do Vista Print.  They usually have coupons, so they aren't crazy $$, but the paper quality is still pretty good.

I usually upload a photo & order some for C's thank-you notes.  I end up with WAY too many, but you never know when you'll need them.

I did find some really nice ones at Hallmark once that I personalized with my initial- I needed them on short notice for an interview thank-you.

Yep, that's them! Mine are hot pink too and I love them! I'm a big, fat fan of anything with my name on it Smile Mine are packed away in storage until we move, so I couldn't look at where they are from.

Anyway, they get an A+ from me!
