Natural, child safe cough syrup?

is there one that's safe and approved for 3 year olds?  if so, what is it and where can I buy it?

My mom always made us a mix of fresh lemon juice and honey....it always seemed to help!

Short answer - no.

I know I've seen some people talk about their peds OKing cough medicine in smaller doses. Mine isn't on board with that so I can't help there.

I bought something from Zarbee's for Katie. It's basically honey water that's flavored so she'll actually take it. I got it at CVS.

Not sure, I've never given it- I just give them honey at that age to coat their throat. Works like a charm with the throat irritation, but not actually in breaking up the congestion.

I have been giving her straight up honey, as well as the honey elixir (I forget the brand) that is safe...was looking for something a little more potent to move this thing outta here!

Another 'old school' thing she did was warm compresses on my chest/throat..heat a scarf or something.

I've given some honey....I think they usually don't recommend cough syrup at this age.  Also, the humidifier when they are sleeping is great!

there is, I think Tara recommended it awhile ago. I had some but I think I tossed it when it expired. My ped. suggested benedryl because it knocks her out enough that she doesnt cough at night. During the day I give her a spoonful of honey, no dairy, shoot her up the nose with saline alot and push lots of water

alright, will continue on with what we've been doing...she's better than she was yesterday but still not great...although you'd never know it by the way she's acting!

We used something called Delsym. I do not remember the dosage at all it was a while ago.

Tried Zarbee's and it did nada.

We were using Simalson cough and mucus relief but it wound up giving Lil Sal terrible diarrhea after each dose.

Zarbees. It is awesome. My ped rec'ed it. All natural.

If she's really drippy, have you tried Benadryl? That helps my kids when they have a cough from post nasal drip.

This is my Peds page on meds.  I know alot of people are against using cough meds on kids but if used properly it's safe.  We've used Dimetapp DM for RJ.

Ditto Chestal. It's basically just honey though so if you have it I'd just stuck with that instead of buying something else.
