Snow forecast

Looks like this might be our biggest snow yet this year, the forecast says 12-22" for the urban corridor?! I wonder how much there has to be to close state government...

Re: Snow forecast

  • I'm in the snow camp of  go huge or don't bother coming in the first place.  By all means, shut the city down but don't drop just enough to f--k everything up but make us all still have to go out, please and thank you..   I'm kind of looking forward to being home all day tomorrow watching out the window from the sofa with the dog in my lap.  I'd just  be happier about this if N didn't have to come home from his dad's house in it tomorrow night or if I could just let N stay put there an extra night... which I can't because he has a belt test on Saturday morning that his dad can't take him to.

  • ugh, I'm not looking forward to it at all.  I work at a hospital and have to go in no matter what.

I'm hoping it cancels schools and work for everyone else so there won't be anyone on the road

  • I'm looking forward to camping out and snuggling at home.  I kind of hope it shuts everything down so that DH can stay home, his office NEVER closes for snow!!
  • I also meant to say that in 8 years of being on contract with Denver County courts, I never saw them shut down or go on weather delay.  I moved here after the 3 foot blizzard in 2003 and would assume/hope that got them to close.  I'm not really sure what it takes.  But good luck to the government peeps tomorrow.
  • The downside to having the option to work from home is that there's no longer any such thing as a snowday Angry

Feel your pain there.  Which should be fun as I'm betting daycare is closed tomorrow (and in any event not sure I want to make the trek to and from with the kids) so the kids will be running around.

  • My boss has a 30 mile drive to work. If she wants to stay home, we both stay home - and she has no intentions of driving in tomorrow.

Only downside... I'm still 9 days away from being PTO eligible.

  • I'm so glad DH is off Tom which means it will be a day of snuggles and cuddles with my 2 fave people in the world:-)

  • The way they are talking, I'm betting the feds are closed tomorrow.  Too bad I have a conference call that I'll probably have to take from home (with kids, fun!).

I hated those days.  Trying to keep my big guys quiet (and now, LittleG) was always fun.  Hope you are quick with the mute button!

  • Well now that we moved our move to Saturday I'm betting it hardly snows at all now.
  • Let the festivities begin!  And by that I mean the snow dance, sleeping with pajamas inside out and spoons under pillows, and flushing ice cubes down the toilet.  Let's do this!!!!!

I told the kids that if we have a snow day, I'll be calling each of them and giving them their spelling test over the phone. Stick out tongue

  • I'm also in the go big or go home camp and hope it either ends up being nothing or is insane.  My work doesnt believe in snow days so I'm sure that I will have to come in tomorrow no matter what Sad

  • Jason's in SFO and is supposed to fly home tomorrow. :(
  • I'm new to the boards- just wanted to say Hi. I hope it either flakes out and doesn't snow or it dumps on us. Although government wise I think it would have to be a full on blizzard for them to close- :( I know my boss is surely from the arctic!!! Good thing he's out of town on business and our other boss is going to let us work from home.

Welcome! And I totally agree... I want tons of snow or nothing!

  • ITA, I hope it DUMPS and shuts everything down or it peters out & doesn't amount to much.  I reallly want a snow day but if that doesn't happen I hope they can at least keep the roads plowed well enough for those of us who have mean bosses who make us come in :) lol
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
  • This snow storm timing is freaking me out now, seeing as I'm 4 days overdue.  My fear with being due at the end of January was that there would be a big storm that would make it difficult to get to the hospital.  We're delivering at Lutheran in Wheat Ridge, but we live near DU, so it's a bit of a drive.  At this point, I'd rather just wait to be induced on Sunday then have to deal with with the snow in the off-chance he comes tonight or tomorrow.  Of course, nothing happened earlier this week when it was 60+ out and sunny.
