Every time I see my little foster ES Mario I have to sing the "Gloria! Gloria! I think I got your number!"
Speaking of Mario, he's the skinniest pup ever. I mean, every rib, every vertebrae, and his hip bones are so sharply prominent. Last foster I had that skinny was crazy boy Charlie Bartlett, and well, that dog ate like a starved dog! Mario on the other hand won't eat at all. He nibbles now and then. If I put wet food in with the dry, he'll eat the wet and leave the dry. Sometimes he doesn't even eat all the wet food. I left his breakfast in his crate with him today while I was gone at work, and I came home to a still full bowl. I'm just bumfuddled, ladies. Should we be worried? I've never met a skinny dog that just seemed so lack luster about food. His bm's are fine, he drinks water, he's full of energy... I just can't figure out why he doesn't seem to want to eat much. Is he just coming down off the stress of the kennels at the shelter? It's been since Saturday.
I know I know... the sky is falling and I'm being a little fluffy chicken.
Re: Mario, Mario!
Emmett, my foster, wouldn't really eat at first due to anxiety. Now he chows down. He also LOVES those natural balance rolls. You could try mixing that into his food.
And when I see his name, I think of the Nintendo games. "Eeetsa me, Maaario!"
